- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
- 1 small white onion, diced (about 1 cup)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 pounds lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 cup beef broth (or chicken broth)
Instructions
- Mix chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, paprika, and optional sugar in a small bowl.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions for 4-5 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds.
- Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in 3-4 tablespoons of taco seasoning. Add broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Serve in tacos, nachos, burritos, or other dishes.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
- Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
