  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 small white onion, diced (about 1 cup)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 cup beef broth (or chicken broth)

Instructions

  1. Mix chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, paprika, and optional sugar in a small bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté onions for 4-5 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Add ground beef and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Stir in 3-4 tablespoons of taco seasoning. Add broth and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Serve in tacos, nachos, burritos, or other dishes.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
