  • 1 egg, large
  • 12 Ritz crackers
  • ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tablespoon Montreal steak spice
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup thinly sliced onions
  • 3 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chopped chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, egg, crushed Ritz crackers, Worcestershire sauce, steak spice, and onion powder in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 evenly sized balls and flatten into oval patties.
  3. Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat and sauté onions until soft.
  4. Cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side, then remove from the pan.
  5. Add flour to the pan and cook with the onions and butter for 3 minutes.
  6. Whisk in beef broth, salt, and pepper until the gravy thickens.
  7. Return the patties to the pan, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer for 12 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with chives before serving.
