- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 egg, large
- 12 Ritz crackers
- ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tablespoon Montreal steak spice
- ½ tablespoon onion powder
- 3 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup thinly sliced onions
- 3 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon chopped chives (optional)
Instructions
- Combine ground beef, egg, crushed Ritz crackers, Worcestershire sauce, steak spice, and onion powder in a large mixing bowl.
- Divide the mixture into 4 evenly sized balls and flatten into oval patties.
- Melt butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat and sauté onions until soft.
- Cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side, then remove from the pan.
- Add flour to the pan and cook with the onions and butter for 3 minutes.
- Whisk in beef broth, salt, and pepper until the gravy thickens.
- Return the patties to the pan, spoon gravy over them, cover, and simmer for 12 minutes.
- Sprinkle with chives before serving.

- Use lean ground beef for best results.
- Crush the crackers finely for a better texture.
- Cook the flour until golden to avoid a raw taste.
