Ingredients
3 cups (360g) all purpose flour
½ tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 ½ cups (297g) granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅛ tsp almond extract
Orange and black sanding sugar
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2. Mix flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
3. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy, then add egg and extracts.
4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms.
5. Scoop dough balls and roll in orange and black sanding sugar.
6. Place on baking sheet and bake 12–14 minutes.
Notes
For chewier cookies, remove from oven when centers are slightly soft. Store in airtight container up to 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
