A simple and fun recipe for a loaded, rolled bread filled with seasoned ground beef, bacon, pickles, and melted cheese.

  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced dill pickle or dill pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (13.8 ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 8 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • burger sauce for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crisp, then drain, cool, and crumble it.
  3. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned and crumbly. Drain the grease.
  4. Add the chopped onion to the skillet with the beef and cook until soft.
  5. Remove from heat and mix in the crumbled bacon, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly flour it.
  7. Unroll the pizza dough onto the sheet and press it into a 10×15-inch rectangle.
  8. Spoon the meat mixture down the center of the dough lengthwise.
  9. Place the American cheese slices over the meat, then sprinkle with half of the shredded Cheddar.
  10. Cut 2-inch strips into the dough from both long sides towards the center, about 1 inch apart.
  11. Fold the strips over the filling in a crisscross pattern to form a loaf.
  12. Brush the loaf with the beaten egg.
  13. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and the remaining Cheddar cheese.
  14. Bake for about 30 minutes, until the cheese is golden brown.

Notes

  • Let the bacon cool before crumbling to avoid burning your fingers.
  • Drain the ground beef well to prevent a soggy filling.
  • Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to make clean cuts in the dough.
  • Serve with optional burger sauce for extra flavor.
