Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ cup yellow onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup finely diced green bell pepper
- 2 cans (15 oz each) tri-color beans, undrained
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes and green chiles, drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1.25 oz packet chili seasoning
- 1 can (12 oz) Dr Pepper
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat for 7 minutes or until beef is browned.
- Drain excess grease.
- Transfer beef mixture to a 5-6 quart crock pot.
- Add remaining ingredients to the crock pot.
- Stir until well combined.
- Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
- Taste and adjust salt if needed before serving.
Notes
- For extra heat, add chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
- Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or sliced green onions.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
