Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup yellow onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup finely diced green bell pepper
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) tri-color beans, undrained
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes and green chiles, drained
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1.25 oz packet chili seasoning
  • 1 can (12 oz) Dr Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat for 7 minutes or until beef is browned.
  2. Drain excess grease.
  3. Transfer beef mixture to a 5-6 quart crock pot.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to the crock pot.
  5. Stir until well combined.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
  7. Taste and adjust salt if needed before serving.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
  • Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, or sliced green onions.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
