A delicious twist on classic sloppy joes, served on garlic bread with melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices of garlic bread, toasted
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until onion is soft, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheeses over the beef mixture. Stir until melted.
  5. Brush toasted garlic bread with melted butter. Spoon sloppy joe mixture over bread. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • Use frozen garlic bread if fresh isn’t available.
  • Toast the bread well to prevent sogginess.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or microwave.
  • Prepare the filling ahead and store in the fridge for up to 2 days.
