- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
- ½ cup (50 g) breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
- 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti
- 3 cups (700 ml) marinara sauce
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil (to prevent sticking)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Fresh basil or parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Roll into 1-2 inch meatballs.
- Sear meatballs in olive oil until browned (about 8 minutes).
- Boil spaghetti for 1-2 minutes less than package instructions.
- Drain spaghetti and toss with olive oil.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread 1 cup marinara sauce in a baking dish.
- Layer half the spaghetti, then meatballs.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce over meatballs.
- Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
- You can use frozen meatballs for convenience.
- Toss cooked pasta with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Boil pasta slightly undercooked for best texture.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave.
