Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick bread (sourdough, brioche, or whole grain)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1 tsp butter or mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chives, bacon bits, sautéed spinach, hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Press down the center of each bread slice to create a shallow well.
  2. Lightly spread butter or mayo on the outer edges of bread.
  3. Crack an egg into each well.
  4. Sprinkle cheese around the egg.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Place in air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 6–9 minutes.
  7. Garnish and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use thick bread to prevent egg from leaking.
  • No parchment paper needed.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer for 2 minutes.
